Game design and development are undergoing significant changes as immersive experiences like virtual reality continue to push the boundaries of storytelling, games, and interactive experiences. Creating your own game or virtual reality experience in this course leaves students with a significant accomplishment is in this emerging field.
In this course, students learn the skills you need to create virtual reality games and experiences for your mobile phone or headset. Use the same tools to create an augmented reality story or game. Start creating the next Pokemon Go, or take your friends on an interactive tour of your favorite place. The possibilities are endless with such an immersive experience.
Learn the best ways to use the Unity game development engine and tackle the unique design challenges that arise when building for Virtual and Augmented Reality. You’ll learn how the game engine controls everything from moving platforms to artificial intelligence. Plus, you’ll explore the basics of C# programming.

REQUIRED Prerequisites
Students must bring their own mobile device. iPhone: iPhone 6s or newer operating at least iOS 8. Android: version needs to be 4.1 or newer. This course uses GoogleVR for students to test their projects on a mobile device without using an expensive headset.

Friday Showcase
At the end of each week, attendees can invite their family and friends to join us for a showcase celebration to share their final projects. Learn more about the fun and exciting activities your child experienced during the week and have an opportunity to meet your child’s instructor. Presentations vary by course topic and instructors will highlight some of the important concepts covered during the week and possible next steps to continue your child’s learning. Arrive early as showcase begins at 3:00 pm and is typically finished by 4:00 pm.
