Service Description

Python is the world's most popular programming language and is used professionally from research to finance. It is a powerful and impressive tool for developing all kinds of computer programs. This course teaches students how to build and develop their own programs that can be applied to hobby and study projects alike. Students will learn how to create graphs for analysis, using the popular frameworks that are used in the industry and scrape data from online websites, allowing for data analytic tools. They will also develop a chatbot and design their own video game using python. By the end of the course, students will have strengthened their programming skills and be able to showcase useful and exciting projects. This course requires students to have a moderate understanding of python, as the course will not teach the basics of python. However, advanced experience is not required. It is expected that students, prior to this class, understand variables, lists, loops, conditionals and functions in python. Python is a popular language, and the Internet is full of fantastic free tutorials to learn the language. Codecademy is a particularly useful resource for learning python and is encouraged prior to beginning this course. IMPORTANT NOTE: In order to ensure that we place all students in the correct class of the appropriate level, we require all students to complete the following quiz. Only once you have received an email back from the Intelligent Futures team should you register your student in the class.
