Game development is a creative outlet for programmers and designers alike and requires creativity and imagination. This course will teach game design using a professional game engine, preparing students to work with industry-standard applications and skills. Unity is a 3D and 2D game engine that is used by professionals in the game development industry. It has been used to produce award-winning games such as Ori and the Blind Forest, Angry Birds, Pokemon Go and Hearthstone. Although most games in Unity are made using the C# scripting language, this course will not require students to program, but instead, utilise the visual scripting system known as Bolt to create a range of 3D games. Throughout the course, students will be introduced to key 3D game components, such as environments, models, functions, animations and user interface elements. The major project will allow students to develop a full 3D island terrain racing game that can be played outside of the game engine. IMPORTANT NOTE: In order to ensure that we place all students in the correct class of the appropriate level, we require all students to complete the following quiz. Only once you have received an email back from the Intelligent Futures team should you register your student in the class. Notification of acceptance will occur within 2 business days of the quiz filling. The acceptance is purely based on skill/experience and age range and no other factors. Should you purchase the class and not meet the required prerequisites, you will receive a full refund.
