HOW IT WORKS
Getting started is as easy as 1-2-3
1. Click “get started” down below.
2. Select your child’s age.
3. Learn online, from anywhere, on any device!
You have questions. We have answers.
1. How were the courses developed?
Digital Media Academy started by asking what we could do to help students gain an understanding of technology education fundamentals. From there, we went through a curriculum development process that included selecting cutting edge topics; creating the courses; testing the content with students and educators, and working with educators to ensure the content works for different ages and knowledge levels.
2. How long will the courses be available?
Digital Media Academy’s STEAM Learning Lab will always be available. Over time courses may be enhanced, added, or removed. You will have access to the courses or bundle you purchased for 12 months from the original day of purchase. You may purchase access after that but prices may differ.
3. How many hours of the curriculum are included in one course?
Courses provide up to 15 hours of instructional value, depending on a student’s experience, interest, and ability to grasp the material covered.
4. Will more courses are added?
Yes! While more than ten courses are available for your child’s age group today there are more available now and more may be added in the future. As your child grows up they will have the opportunity to access additional courses.
5. How are the courses delivered?
Courses are available online anytime from anywhere on any connected device. Courses are self-paced and students are encouraged to complete the curriculum at a pace that suits their learning style and lifestyle.
6. What is the learning format of the courses?
Digital Media Academy’s STEAM Learning Lab uses a learning format based on students completing courses that are divided into modules. Each module covers a specific topic and contains a series of lessons, assignments, critical thinking questions, and/or interactive videos. There are also quizzes, meant to quickly help students review and retain what they’ve learned, and challenges where students actually create, produce, and/or complete a task to practice their new skill. Students can earn badges for each achievement that they complete.
7. What ages are eligible to use STEAM LEARNING LAB?
Currently, there are customized STEAM Learning Labs for ages 7-9, 9-12, and 13-18+. Our 30+ courses have been designed for students from kindergarten through graduation.
